As they drive through the streets lit by the city lights, Lucky and Vladimir reminisce of times long gone, and brush the picture of their daily lives. Lucky works as a home health aid whereas Vladimir, horrified by the surrounding moral decay finds a shelter in the depths of he night. In parallel, a young girl runs away from home to escape her violent father and her alcoholic mother. A she hides behind a monkey mask, she silently witnesses nightlife revealing its fragile, blunt and endearing personalities. As Lucky searches for her, he cannot forget the forgotten whom he reaches daily at work. Between fiction and reality, "Une réalité par seconde" makes us dive into the world of those we neither want to see nor know, into a reality we are trying to forget.
