The 12th T-Mobile New Horizons IFF will see concerts played nightly at the Festival Club, but cinema theaters will also be home to new music. In a very special event, singer pianist and film director Khavn De La Cruz will join musicians and fellow Philippine filmmaker Lav Diaz in a concert accompanying the screening of his latest film. Khavn provides his films with soundtracks inspired by an eclectic palette of genres, producing unique amalgams of ambient melody and heavy, emphatic sounds. Kalakala is an experimental quasi-documentary depicting a man carrying a mysterious bundle, who witnesses the devastation that followed a tropical storm and subsequent flooding in the Philippines.
