When Joel McKenzie, an ordinary stand up blue collar guy, goes missing after an argument with his sexually unsatisfied wife Isabella, everyone is shocked when he is found lying dead in a dominatrix' flat. When Detectives Charlotte Stafford Smith, Tyler Evans and Sophia Larkin begin their investigation, a grimy web of crime is uncovered in a seedy Kings Cross nightclub and the apartment building next door. As they interview a mix of witnesses and potential suspects in the building, they soon realize that they have stumbled on quite a unique crew of characters.
