Multiplex tells the story of Andy Samson. Andy is a relatively sheltered, business-driven college senior. As his college career draws to a close, Andy encounters a series of unfortunate circumstances. Due to both his own poor decisions and the actions of an obsessive ex-girlfriend, Andy fails one of the last classes he needs to graduate and receive his diploma. In order to pay for summer school, Andy is forced into taking a job at a small, local movie theater. Rather than spending the summer searching for a high profile job in the city, Andy finds himself stuck in a small town scooping popcorn for minimum wage. The film follows Andy's exploits as he juggles both his job and his summer courses, the on-going presence of his obsessive ex-girlfriend, and his ever-growing crush on Carly, the mysterious girl who runs the theater's projection booth.
