A disciplined yet stubborn US Army Ranger Tony Borne is tested as he struggles to survive self-destruction due to self-pride and stubbornness in order to deal with survivor's guilt and feeling normal again after losing his leg in Iraq. After losing SPC Ricky Wallace to a roadsiade bomb, Tony finds himself dealing with a new issue, survivor's guilt. When Tony deploys for his third tour in three years, he starts to wonder whether him doing his job is worth missing his daughters grow up. During his third deployment, the FOB where he is stationed comes under heavy mortar attack and as a result, Tony becomes a wounded warrior.
