This screenplay follows a ten pound note through the hands of over twenty diverse people, like pass the parcel, or a relay race baton, and shows points of contrast and comparison. The thoughts in italics are to be voiced by the actors to themselves, without their lips moving, as inner monologues. There is also dialogue in the scenes. The play is about money, values, what money can and can't buy, job searches, work and unemployment. At the end of the film, the ten pound note returns to one of the people who had possessed it earlier with a humorous twist that echoes the start.
