Subho is an intelligent student and comes home after completing his MSc. His mother realizes that it is time for him to get married and reaches the rich Mr. Bose's house to ask for her daughter Deepika's hand in marriage to Subho. This is because Subho's father had helped Mr. Bose with financial aid during his struggling times and in return for that, before Deepika's mother died she promised Subho's mother that their kids would be married one day. However Mr. Bose rejects the proposal stating Subho was not financially strong enough to take care of his daughter. Subho decides to win Deepika's heart by posing as someone else initially however later reveals his identity. They fall in love. However Mr. Bose had already finalized Deepika's marriage with Niladri, an employee in his firm who was actually a goon. Niladri's motive was actually to gain control of Deepika's property. Deepika's best friend Supriya falls in love with Niladri and he agrees to marry her.
