Dinos Apergis, a failed and bankrupt businessman, confides in his fiancée over the phone that he is contemplating suicide. However, after overhearing their sad conversation, Rita, a lovely but impecunious telephonist, decides to take action to avert the tragic outcome. As a result, Rita, along with two colleagues and best friends, follows him to Skiathos and introduces herself as the daughter of the wealthy Greek-American oil tycoon, Nick Pappas, unaware that he is already on the island with his girlfriend Mitsi, Dinos' ex-fiancée. Can Rita make Dinos see that love is closer than he thinks?
