Charlie, content coasting through life in small town Canada, wastes his days drinking with friends that he has little in common with. He dreams of being a successful musician, but his complete lack of drive prevents any progress. When he meets Sarah, who recently moved to town from the city, she opens his eyes to a world of possibilities.
