The famous singer and film star Lincoln is in Vienna to finish a new film. However, he's more interested in the Viennese lifestyle than in protecting his voice. When Tomson, his manager hears him sing at the Heurigen, Tomson is enraged. However, the singer wasn't Lincoln, but the music student Joseph Reiner (Schmidt), whose voice sounds exactly the same as that of the singer. And when through an unfortunate accident Lincoln loses his voice, the music student gets the offer to stand in for the singer behind the scene. What complicates matters is that Lincoln is also interested in Joseph's sweetheart, Annerl, and that some journalist is about to find out about the 'voice replacement'...
