A controversial photography exhibit about atrocities committed by the German army on the Eastern Front during World War II inspired Ruth Beckermann (HOMEMADE(E); ZORRO'S BAR MITZWA) to interview soldiers about their experiences beyond the bounds of "normal" warfare.
