The first film by the photographer Niki List observes the Vienna Youth bizarre scene. Malaria is the name of a small cafés, which stands as a focal point for different types that are the most diverse groups feel they belong. In the café, everything is permitted. List describes in an ironic way, the young people of the so-called no-future generation, tells about their communication behavior, the emptiness and aimlessness, of this generation is determined. As a Viennese New Wave film malaria was a "documentary masterpiece praised and awarded the Max Ophüls Prize.
