Fishing is a kind of static outdoor hobby that people have enjoyed for centuries, all the while thinking that fish are part of a natural gift. Now, fishing has moved indoors, and it has changed into a kind of virtual game resembling a declining and analogue-era business, where ownership and possession, unlike the original pastime, have become the purpose. This video appropriates the rules of a game applied to the indoor fishing industry, staging and repackaging the situations of exchange value that could occur in one of these places. The video presents three different stages: “nature-commodity”, “nature-nature”, and “nature-processed nature”. These show either a change or regression as well as the dynamics and inter-relationship movement within the triumvirate of “human-fish-food” and which is based on pleasure and desire. The video features the actual owner of the indoor fishing pond, regular clients, and the film crew participating in fishing.
