A heartwarming drama about a liquor store family: Ryoichi, the eldest son, and his wife; Ryoichi's mother; his sister Motoko; and his younger brother, Noboru. Motoko, who was crippled during the war, was unhappy about her life and everyone in the family tries to help her out of her depression. After she runs away from home, she meets a generous man in the countryside and finally finds her happiness.
