A German arms manufacturer finds itself at the center of a scandal involving the supply of weapons to regions of Mexico with increased levels of violence. Sabine Stengele, married to the sales manager at the arms company HSW, accompanies her husband Alex to trial, although she herself is an ardent opponent of arms. When Sabine realizes that her husband is to be used as a pawn sacrifice, she joins forces with lawyer Christiane Schuhmann. Schuhmann wants to bring to light the true dimension of illegal arms exports to Mexico and therefore wants to represent Mexican victims in a side action in court. The two women are being helped by Miguel Hernández, whose brother was shot in front of him and is now in a coma. Christiane and Sabine realize that the trial threatens to become a farce.
