The film is based on the story of Estonian writer Riho Mesilase "In the first week of a veterinarian" 70th years. Young Vetirinar Lembit Savikas comes to work in the most usual collective farm for that time. Local residents, embodying the whole spectrum of rural vices and virtues, first treat it with obvious coolness. But gradually Lembit conquers the collective farmers' authority and respect. And some have deeper feelings ... The picture in addition to quality humor and musical series, contains a lot of metaphors and deep, well-designed images. "Stereo" was banned for display and did not appear on the screens (its premiere took place only in 1991), since the author of the work on which the film was shot - Riho Mesilase - fled the USSR to the West and became a defector. There he worked on Radio Free Europe and returned to Estonia only in 1991.
