For many people Good Friday is all about hot cross buns; the Easter weekend and the start of Spring. But what's often forgotten is that it is in fact one of the most important dates in the Christian calendar. Historian Bettany Hughes embarks on a journey to uncover the meaning of Jesus' death on the cross, and finds out just why it still has significance today.
